The bride DID wear Chanel: The Lagerfeld dress Lily Allen wore to the reception
    By LAUREN PAXMAN
©Evening gown: Lily Allen admires Lagerfeld's sketch and tries on her custom-designed Chanel dress, which she wore to the wedding reception
While Kate Middleton kept us guessing over her choice of wedding dress designer, Lily Allen's decision was all but confirmed months ago.
The singer hinted that Lagerfeld would be designing her gown while posing with him at Chanel's Paris Fashion Week show in March... and then confused everyone by wearing a Delphine Manivet dress down the aisle instead.
But there is a very logical explanation - like the Duchess of Cambridge, Lily had two wedding outfits, one for the ceremony and one for the reception.
The 26-year-old revealed all on her Twitter page after Lagerfeld uploaded an image of Lily wearing the white dress he had designed, along with a sketch of his creation.
The images were accompanied by a caption explaining that they were taken by Benoît Peverelli at a fitting in Chanel's Paris headquarters, 31 rue Cambon.
Fashion blogger Laura LaRue tweeted a link to Lagerfeld's picture saying: 'Confused? Me too.'
©Radiant bride: Lily, with husband Sam Cooper, in the Delphine Manivet dress she wore to her wedding ceremony, which also featured transparent sleeves and detailing on the bottom of the skirt and was designed to accommodate her baby bump
Lily wrote straight back, explaining: 'I wore my BEAUTIFUL Chanel dress to our reception.'
There are many similarities between the two dresses. Both had a transparent layer which went right up to the bride's neck.
The Delphine Manivet gown was lacy, and had a sweetheart neckline underneath, while the Chanel number featured beautiful floaty sleeves that were puffy to the elbow and then tight to the wrist.
It also had intricate embroidery on the bustier, and looks like it was semi-transparent below that.
Both gowns had additional detailing on the bottom half of the big skirts.
Manivet has revealed that her gown was intentionally designed to be roomy as Lily has been trying for a baby since January.
The singer's husband, Sam Cooper, announced his wife was four months pregnant on their wedding day - to gasps of joy from his guests.
We imagine there were similar exclamations of affectionate surprise when they laid eyes on the radiant bride in each of her stunning gowns.

    Kiss Nail Dress

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted - I've been keeping busy! Today I want to talk about my experience with the Kiss Nail Dress kit that I received in my Love VoxBox from Influenster! I received this product complimentary, for testing and review purposes, and I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you!

Kiss Nail Dress kits equal "ultimate fashion for tips and toes!" I adored the sparkly, animal-print pattern I received, called Bodysuit. Applying these nail stickers could NOT be easier:

    1. Peel the sticker off the backing
    2. Line up the sticker on your nail
    3. Smooth down, watching for bumps or air bubbles
    4. Fold over the excess
    5. File!

I had so much fun applying these nails one night when my friends were hanging out in my apartment. They laughed at my exclamations of "Wow!" and "This is so easy!" Sure, the pattern was not something I would normally gravitate to, but I ended up loving it!

According to Kiss: With 28 strips in each package, you can cut up your extras to create designs that can be used on top of polished or artificial nails. Nail Dress doesn’t dry out the way other polish strips can, so you can save them to use on your next DIY mani. A nail design booklet is included in each package, just in case you need a little inspiration.

I kept my nails dressed for over a week - that means multiple showers, hand-washings, etc. They stayed perfect the whole time! I'm looking forward to trying other Kiss Nail Dress styles (with 18 different patterns, the possibilities are endless!). They can be purchased in major chain drugstores and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS, and Walgreens, and they cost around $6.99.

Thanks to Influenster and Kiss for sending this wonderful product my way! I was lucky enough to be able to attend NYFW for the first time this year (eek), and my experience was definitely incredible. From the street style photographers everywhere outside Lincoln Center ready to shoot you when you walk out, to the crazy amazing designs inside the shows, I had a blast. For those of you who didn't get the opportunity to attend, here's a recap of some of my favorite shows.

  • Intermediate Pattern For Colette Macaron Dress

Intermediate Pattern For Colette Macaron Dress

    The feminist

Oh, hello there. Nice to see you. Notice anything different? Anything intermediate? Yes, that's right. I have successfully completed an intermediate pattern. We're talking darts, facing, curvy sleeves, and bits that match up.

And, while I'm (obviously) pretty chuffed with myself I can't take all the credit. Colette patterns are just so damn good. I mean they come in book format. They have a glossary. I know I've praised Colette pattern's organised awesomeness before, but it's worth another shout out.

    What I changed?
I used a single layer of fabric for the sleeves and hemmed them instead of using two-layers as the pattern suggests. I think the curve would have been nicer with two-layers, but I was feeling rebellious. I also used a regular zipper instead of an invisible zipper because apparently I live in the deserted wastelands and dark blue invisible zippers over 5cm are rare, exotic gems.

    What I like?
Despite my rebellion, I adore the way the sleeves turned out. They're incredibly feminine in how they mimic the bust line. The secret pockets hidden beneath a pleat. We're talking hidden, deep, comfortable pockets that don't change the shape or bulk up the dress. Genius. Someone get Sarai a nobel prize, stat.

I'm also really happy with the fit of the dress, especially the bodice. As usual, the pattern had to go through some epic changes to fit me properly. I originally cut a 4 in the top and 6 in the bottom (holla for the badonkadonks!), lengthened the bodice 3.5cm (1.4"), took in the waist, adjusted the skirt to match, blah blah blah...

What I'll do next time?Match the waist band pieces. Ssssh. Just don't look at them.

So, my verdict is love, love, love and I can't wait to make it again. But, I know you might be wondering... what does my macaron have to do with a field track? Well I was at Uni wearing my dress, so I thought I'd take some photos while out there. And, the reason I was at Uni?

So I'm a graduate with intermediate sewing skillz. Could I be any happier? No. Probably not. Unless I had a chocolate milkshake. Then my life would be complete.

    Macarons On My Table

Saying a sewing project is on my table is a bit of a lie. It's really on my floor, with a sleeve on the table, a skirt front over a chair, and a back yoke who-knows-where. But it will come together, with the it being my new, nearly completed Colette Macaron dress. You've probably seen it out in the google-sphere on other talented ladies (or men?). I'm using the same japanese cotton from my Welcome Spring dress... and my present bag.

But please, hear my case. I have a totally legitimate reason. You see I bought the fabric online, and my cautious nature thought "I'll get a touch extra, just in case". I then discovered the Simplicity pattern was a big fat lying liar pants and I needed way less than suggested. So I gotta-lotta fabric. Two dresses and a bag's worth, actually. The Macaron pattern is labelled 'intermediate', but to be honest I haven't found too many issues... yet. It just requires patience.

I have also checked a technique. Look at this facing, it's so facey! I can't believe it took me so long to do facing. I literally stared at it for about an hour. You know what else this facing is? Serged. Seriously I am now considering my life in two parts: Before and after owning a serger. With the latter obviously being far greater and magical.

It makes everything so clean. So neat. So finished. I'm going a little serger crazy. This is going to be the neatest goddamn garment in the land I tell you. Oh, I also have a new addition to my treasured sewing family. Yesterday was my birthday and, what can I say, my boy knows how to buy a good present. I haven't used it yet, but I feel pretty pro just having it in my possession.

    Colette Violet

Yeah, things are getting Colette-crazy around here, and next up is the beautiful Violet blouse. I've had this pattern for a while but never mustered the courage to attack those intimidating button holes, or that menacing peter pan collar. I'm sure I'll find, just like every other time I check a technique, it will be fine and I have nothing to fear from a little Peter Pan action.

I'll probably use one of the three fabrics below as they're already in my stash. I'm petrified of creating one of those prevalent space-devouring stash-monsters. That all looks rather pink, doesn't it? The first two I bought at a vintage fair, and the third is a liberty of London fabric I got for my birthday. Spoilt much? Yes. I've never sewn with liberty fabric, but it's been a dream of mine. I'm not embarrassed to admit I've spent hours just holding onto this little strip of fabric, rubbing it against my cheek.

    Which one would you use?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland wanted to display Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress for its "Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power" exhibit.
Problem is, how do you store and display raw meat for days, weeks, and months without flies, maggots, and the rotting stench of decay?
Gaga Meat Dress on display at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The answer? Turn the meat outfit into jerky. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the dress and shoes worn by Gaga at the 2010 Video Music Awards were cured and dried. The result? A jerky outfit, fit for display (or to eat on a hiking trip).

Well, if it suits you...! Princess Eugenie recreates Ascot success with red gown at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball
    By SARAH BULL
©If it suits you...! Princess Eugenie looked stunning in a corseted red gown by Vivienne Westwood at Sir Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball, which was similar to the Alexander McQueen dress she wore to Royal Ascot earlier this month
She won praise from fashion's fiercest critics when she arrived at Royal Ascot last week in a plunging, corseted Alexander McQueen dress.
So it's little wonder Princess Eugenie decided to attempt to recreate her Ascot success by wearing an incredibly similar red number to Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball.
The 21-year-old princess looked stunning in the Vivienne Westwood full-length gown, which was corseted to accentuate her tiny waist and feminine curves.
Eugenie teamed the dress with a pair of gold earrings, a nude-coloured clutch bag and matching nude peep-toe heels.
However, she had some competition to be the centre of attention from her older sister Princess Beatrice.
Beatrice, 22, also looked incredible in a nude Elie Saab net and flower gown, pulled in at the waist to highlight the extent of her dramatic weight loss.
©Family night out: Eugenie attended the annual fundraising event with her sister Princess Beatrice and mother Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York
The royal is almost unrecognisable in a red Vi after shedding an astonishing amount of weight over the past year.
She was spurred into losing her puppy fat by pictures which showed her wearing a tight blue bikini in the Caribbean in 2008.
However, Beatrice said she was not ready for the barrage of criticism she received following the shots.
©Lady in red: Eugenie won rave reviews from fashion's fiercest critics for her McQueen dress at Ascot
©Svelte: The dress highlighted Eugenie's slim figure and drew attention to her feminine curves
She told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘It was such an unflattering bikini and I've got one that's so much nicer, so I could have kicked myself for wearing it.
'I thought people were a bit mean, although I know it comes with the territory. The trouble is, I don't have much confidence so it can be quite upsetting. I could probably do with losing the odd pound though, so perhaps it is the kick I need.'
Beatrice, who has faced a battle with her weight similar to that of her mother Sarah Ferguson, has previously put her transformation down to trainer Nadya Fairweather, whose help she enlisted in the lead-up to the London Marathon.

    By SARAH BULL
©Essex girls leading the way: The Only Way Is Essex stars (left to right) Amy Childs, Lauren Goodger, Lydia Bright and Sam Faiers lead the glamour at the BAFTA Television Awards
It was of the most highly-anticipated events of the year, with the biggest names from the television industry attending.
But at the Philips BAFTA Television Awards this evening it wasn't a TV veteran who stole the show but a group of relative newcomers - the girls from The Only Way Is Essex.
Amy Childs, Lauren Goodger, Sam Faiers and Lydia Bright led the glamour as they arrived for the annual ceremony at the Grovesnor House Hotel.
©Stealing the show: But it was Amy Childs who stood out from the crowd in her Pia Michi gold gown
And it seems maybe the girls had coordinated their outfits, as they all went for sparkly metallic numbers as they posed on the red carpet.
But it was redhead Amy Childs who managed to hog the limelight, perhaps for the wrong reasons, as she pulled out all the stops in her Pia Michi strapless gold dress.
The elaborate gown featured a beaded bodice and ruched gold skirt, complete with a tulle underskirt, giving Amy a strong resemblance to Belle from Disney's Beauty And The Beast.
However, the rest of the TOWIE girls also went all out with their red carpet outfits.
©Metallic: Sam looked stunning in her Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress while Lydia Bright wore a grey flowered Dynasty gown and Lauren went for sparkly everything in Scala
While Sam shone in a shimmery white and black Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, Lydia wore a pretty metallic grey flowered Dynasty dress.
And Lauren looked like the cat that got the cream as she posed with fiancé Mark Wright while wearing a strappy silver Scala dress and matching sparkly shoes.

The perils of a Lo-cut dress: Jennifer Lopez suffers embarrassing wardrobe malfunction live on German TV
    By PAMELA OWEN
©Diva: Lopez has been touring Europe to promote her latest album 'Love?' and has done a number of TV interviews
As far as wardrobe malfunctions go, Jennifer Lopez could probably count this one as her worst ever.
The 42-year-old singer managed to fully expose her ample bosom during an interview with German television.
Lopez has fiercely been promoting her latest album, 'Love?' across Europe but the recent appearance left her a little over exposed and will, no doubt, make her blush.

    ©
Unsuspecting: Jennifer is in a jovial mood as she is greeted by the show's presenter Thomas Gottschalk
©Windy: TV presenter Thomas Gottschalk runs to Jennifer's rescue but little do they know she's about to reveal even more flesh
It all started when the signer arrived on a horse drawn carriage for the live filming of 'Wetten das...?' - German for 'wanna bet that' - at the Coliseo Balear bull fighting arena in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
The singer looked gorgeous in a floor-length beige and black dress with a matching head band and the crowds screamed as she waved.
©Superstar: Fans at the bull fighting arena went crazy as Jennifer performed her hit On the Floor
But her flowing outfit, which was barely held together with a large brown belt, was probably not suited and kept whipping up in the windy weather.
As she greeted the show's presenter Thomas Gottschalk and Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel a huge gust of wind started to blow her flowing dress up.
Almost immediately Gottschalk can be seen scuttling over to her in a bid to try and keep the ensemble down.
And Lopez sighs with relief as she manages to escape showing too much flesh.
But she didn't suspect she was about to commit an even greater faux pas
©Glamorous: The singer talks to host Gottschalk and Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel
As she sits down the singer's entire breast pops out, leaving her completely exposed.
Completely oblivious to what just happened, the singer carries on with the interview unaware that she has just given Gottschalk and Vettel an eyeful.
After discussing her latest album and revealing a bit about her personal life, she then went on to sing her hit song, On The Floor.
The interview was just one of many that she has been doing in Europe and was recently spotted with her mum Guadaulpe in Paris.
Last year Lopez spoke about how having her own children helped the pair mend their own troubled relationship.
Dressed casually in a grey cardigan and jeans, J-Lo didn't let the rain dampen her spirits as she did a bit of shopping with her mum.
©Hollywood royalty: Jennifer made a grand entrance and was brought into the arena on a horse-drawn carriage
The Diva, who is married to Marc Anthony, also recently revealed in an interview with the BBC that she might not be returning American Idol.
Lopez, who judged alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, announced in April that she was keen to start a new show to try and find undiscovered talent in Latin American countries with her husband.
The show, called Que Viva!, means that Lopez, who has two children, will be able to spend more time with her family.

Remember me? Cameron Diaz, in an itty bitty mini-dress, greets ex Justin Timberlake with a kiss on the red carpet
    By CHRIS JOHNSON
©Cheeky one: Cameron Diaz shares a smooch with ex-boyfriend and co-star Justin Timberlake as they arrive for the New York premiere of their new movie Bad Teacher tonight in New York
For the past week Cameron Diaz - and her legs - have been shipped around Europe and Russia promoting her new movie, Bad Teacher.
But the 38-year-old actress was finally united with her ex-boyfriend and co-star Justin Timberlake as the pair attended the New York premiere.
The couple dated for three years before splitting five years ago - and clearly the film's promoters were holding Timberlake back for the U.S. unveiling.
And of course, the one-time couple did not disappoint, duly sharing a kiss on the red carpet - in view of the army of flashbulbs.
©Remember these? Cameron was wearing a very short dress by Chanel, complete with a see-through top section, as she dangled her long legs in front of Justin
Diaz, who is dating baseball player A-Rod, put her famous legs on show in an impossibly short Chanel knit dress, complete with a see-through top section which revealed a black bra underneath.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Timberlake - who is single following his split from Jessica Biel - opted for a dapper black suit.
Cameron plays a flesh-flashing, booze-guzzling, pot-smoking, foul-mouthed teacher in the comedy, which was released in the UK last week and will hit U.S. cinemas on Friday.
©Cast call: From left to right, director Jake Kasdan, Timberlake, Diaz, Jason Segel, Punch, and Phyllis Smith
Her character, seventh grade teacher Elizabeth Halsey, tries to get out of the classroom for good by wooing a rich substitute teacher, played by her ex Timberlake.
Cameron was today on a promotional blitz in New York, stepping out in no less than four different outfits in total.
This morning she told breakfast show Good Morning America that working with her ex-boyfriend Timberlake on Bad Teacher was easy because they 'know their boundaries'.
©Changing styles: The actress has donned four outfits today, seen left arriving for an appearance on GMA, before slipping into two different ensembles at the The Late Show with David Letterman and, R, tonight
    ©

She said Timberlake was: 'A blessing, a privilege that wasn't lost on either of us. He's so funny and talented,' she gushed.
When asked if the sex scenes were awkward she added: 'It was easier because the boundaries were clear. Like if it's somebody you don't know you are kind of going 'mmm maybe' but you know, 'no', in this instance we're like 'we already did that',' she giggled.
The actress also admitted that she was nicknamed 'the intestinator' by staff on the set because she was always eating.
©Acting up: Timberlake stands on a chair as he poses for photographers at the event, which was held at New York's Ziegfeld Theatre
'I decided my character was a consumer, she's always taking taking taking so I decided that in every scene I would be eating, drinking or chewing on something,' said the There's Something About Mary star.
'So the whole film I was eating, all the worst foods too - corn dogs and fried chicken it was really just an excuse to eat all the bad foods.
'Donuts and breakfast sandwiches. The prop guys called me the intestinator,' she laughed.

©I am ready for my close up: Comedian 'Weird Al' Yankovic also made an appearance to join in with the fun
Wearing a super-short mini skirt Diaz noted that she usually leads a healthy lifestyle to stay slim.
'Because I love to do active things in my lifestyle, if I don't take care of my body, if I'm not strong then I can't bring those things into my life and those are the things that truly make me happy and my happiness is what really makes me who I am.
'So I'm constantly trying to stay strong so that I can do anything I want at any time.'

©Co-stars: Sean Penn looked after his family friend and co-star Eve Hewson on the red carpet at Cannes, who is the daughter of U2 frontman Bono
Her famous father is used to the spotlight, but last night it was the U2 frontman’s daughter’s turn to steal the limelight at Cannes.
Eve Hewson showed that she’s no shrinking violet by strutting down the red carpet in a stunning black and pink Chanel ensemble for the film premiere of This Must Be The Place.
The 19-year-old stars in the crime thriller alongside her father’s pal Sean Penn and Talking Heads singer David Byrne.
©Cool and composed: The 19-year-old actress appeared relaxed in front of the press and photographers at the premiere of This Must Be The Place, by director Paolo Sorrentino
And Penn made sure to act as a protective father figure for Eve on the red carpet by staying close by her side throughout the night, as her parents didn't attend the event.
Eve certainly picked up some tips from Bono on how to turn heads, and looked lovely in the light pink skirt, black bodice and sheer overlay alongside Miu Miu heels, while Penn wore a Giorgio Armani tux.
Earlier in the day she had attended a photo call for her new film too, and opted for a Miu Miu dress with a neon green cut-out leather yoke.
Being in the company of stars including Gwen Stefani, Rosario Dawson and Faye Dunaway didn’t seem to faze the young actress at all and appeared calm and relaxed.
©Cute in Chanel: Eve turned heads in a light pink skirt, black bodice and sheer overlay by Chanel, alongside Miu Miu black heels
This Must Be The Place is not Eve’s first appearance on screen though and had her first debut in 2002 on her father’s video documentary ‘U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle’.
She also appeared on Irish chat show The Late Late Show in 2003 and in 2008 had a role in the drama The 27 Club - which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Eve also had a starring role last year in a short film titled For The First Time, but her latest project is by sure her largest.
This Must Be The Place sees Penn play a wealthy former rock star in Dublin, who is now bored and embarks on a quest to find his father’s persecutor – an ex-Nazi war criminal now hiding out in the U.S.
©Cast members: Director Paolo Sorrentino stands to the right of Eve Hewson (centre) and Sean Penn stands to the left of her at the screening of This Must Be The Place at Cannes
©Rising actress: Eve had her first film debut in 2002 on her father's video documentary 'U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle', and has starred in a short film as well as a full length drama
Learning his father is close to death, he travels to New York in the hope of being reconciled with him during his final hours, only to arrive too late.
Having been estranged for over 30 years, it is only now in death that he learns the true extent of his father’s humiliation in Auschwitz at the hands of former SS Officer Aloise Muller – an event he is determined to avenge.
While Eve plays his 16-year-old friend covered in tattoos, who rides around on a skateboard – which she admitted was hard to master.
©Serene: Being in the company of stars including Gwen Stefani, didn't seem to faze the young actress and she lapped up the limelight

Sean Penn no doubt picked up some tips from Bono on how to play a rock star, but the U2 star did not attend yesterday’s event.
But Bono is no stranger to Cannes and in 2007, he played alongside the rest of U2 at the top of the Palais steps to launch the screening of concert film U2 3D.
©Strike a pose: Earlier in the day Eve and Sean joined Judd Hirsch (left) and director Paolo Sorrentino at a photo call for their film in Cannes
©Fashionista: Eve Hewson opted for a Miu Miu dress with a neon green cutout leather yoke for the photo call, while Penn decided to wear his denims
Eve is Bono and his wife Ali Hewson’s second-eldest daughter and grew up in Dublin with her three siblings, Jordan, 22, Elijah, 11, and John, 10, away from public exposure.
Her youngest brother John turns 10 today, which he will no doubt be celebrating with his famous family at home in Ireland.
©Proud parents: Bono and Eve's mother Ali Hewson (seen here in Dublin last month) didn't attend Cannes this year and are thought to be back in Ireland to celebrate their 10-year-old son's birthday today

  • A dress for Sage

    A dress for Sage
Sewing Instead of starting a batch of pillowcase dresses this morning, I made this dress :)
I altered a pattern I had so that it would work how I wanted it to.

    Sewing
It was quick and easy which is my kind of project. I think it turned out so cute! I love the contrast of the mustard colored fabric to the green binding and the turquoise flower.
I've felt a bit in a crafting funk lately. I haven't felt like starting large batches of things so this dress was a perfect thing to do this morning. I'm just hoping this crafting funk goes away soon, I have shows coming up!
Check out all this weeks sew and tell posts at amylouwho!

Sewing is Taking Over My Life

    Dress

I don't consider myself to have poor time management, in fact I'm organised. Really organised. Like chill out Reana Louise and put the filing system down organised. However, I find I have no time this year. Yes I work, yes I study full time, yes I have a social life (admittedly a bit small and pathetic), but I do that every year. So who's the culprit? What's to blame? Sewing.

    I've been dreaming about sewing?

I'm obsessed - did you know that Well of course you didn't because I'm telling you now, but I do! All the time I think about it. Whenever I leave the house I'm dissecting other people's outfits thinking how was it made? How does it sit like that? Will that warp? How hard would it be to get those stripes to line up? I'm mad, totally sewing mad I tell you!

And it's not like I'm overly fecund, I've only produced a handful of garments. So much of my time is spent scouring the inspiration, blogs, and communities in the big time-sucking device that is the internet. And then there's this blog - which is so much fun being able to express ideas and ask questions to people who love sewing as much as I do (I already bore my friends with art, I can't push this on them too).

But it's not as bad as I might be making out, it's so rewarding creating something and then wearing it. But what about you guys? Are you as obsessed as me, or do you take sewing in your stride? Is there anything else that you're obsessed with?

My swishable floral dress is completed and I'm really happy with the result!

Especially the way it fits... I'm not going to bore you with all of the details, just a quick run through with links to techniques. If you have any questions, please ask me!

I practically snatched it from the poor postman. You see, I live in a house of girls and a fair bit of online-shopping happens around here. Much time is spent out the front with tea-in-hand eyeing his arrival down like vultures - so hopefully he's used to it. Talking of online shopping my roommate just bought this dress from modcloth, how pretty is it? As you know I'm buying zero clothes this year so I have to live vicariously through them. Thank god they have such great taste!

But back onto my original point... New bikini pattern means I'm now ready to buy some fabric! The only problem is I think there's a secret kingdom of gorgeous and appropriately priced stretchy bikini fabric that is hiding from me. I've done a bit of hunting at the local fabric shops but their lycra is more 5th-grade-gymnast-team than hot-woman-strutting-about-Europe. Where is all of the good swimmer fabric?

So far 'Beach Animation' from Tessuti is winning, the only problem is that I think the pattern might be a little too big? One butt cheek might look like a giant flower, and the other a dark navy space? Is it Ok to have a lop-sided butt? I definitely don't want the flower in the middle.

I've scrummaged through etsy too and couldn't find anything that felt 'right'. And then I need lining! Picking fabric for me is one of the fun tasks (unlike hemming, or ironing- snore) but I feel this is something I need a little help with.

So come one... give me your secrets! Have you found some swimwear fabric that you're dying to use and would be willing to share the source? Do you know where the secret kingdom of luscious lycra is hiding?

Her side parting short bob has been her signature hairstyle for a while now but yesterday Frankie Sandford decided it was time for a change.
The Saturdays singer, 22, paid a visit to the salon and showed off her super-short pixie crop as she arrived at Kiss FM earlier today.
Frankie’s new elfin-inspired hair, echoed Victoria Beckham’ short do seen in 2008, although the Saturdays singer was sporting a slightly longer fringe.

She finished off her look with a pair of oversized sunglasses and a pair of brown peep-toe ankle boots.
Frankie arrived at the radio station with her bandmate Una Healy, who was bright in a strapless tangerine-coloured maxi dress with gladiator sandals.
©WAG style: The Saturdays singer appeared to have taken some inspiration from Victoria Beckham's short crop which she displayed in 2008
The girls had made a pit stop to pick up breakfast and a coffee ahead of their radio appearance.
Frankie has recently spoken out about her relationship with footballer Wayne, who she has been dating since January, and believes Waynecan be trusted and won't stray.
She told More Magazine: 'You can’t ever say for sure that someone would never do that, but Wayne’s different.
©Summer style: Frankie and her bandmate Una Healy were seen looking lovely as they arrived at a radio studio
'We don’t hang out with other players, and I’m not really interested in being a WAG.
We’ve both had past relationships that were in the public eye.
'This is more private, and so much nicer. Things are going really well. I’m so happy.'
The Saturdays have been busy this week and yesterday the girls sported a whole host of summery looks as they arrived at the BBC Radio 1’s live lounge Maida Vale studios to record a session.
©Out with the old: Frankie decided to change her signature side bob style into a shorter crop
©Anybody in? Frankie was seen knocking on the window of the building before she was let in with her fellow Saturdays
The band also have a number of television appearances in the next couple of weeks before they take to the festival circuit this summer.
They're on Graham Norton's chat show this Friday, before T4 on Saturday and both Daybreak and Lorraine on Monday.
©Mixed styles: Rochelle donned a pretty peach dress with a patterned scarf while Mollie wore the same printed T-shirt that Frankie wore yesterday
They're gearing up to release their next single All Fired Up ahead of the release of their as yet untitled third album later this year, ahead of their All Fired Up Tour in December.

Bieber gets a fever: Justin appeared to enjoy the view as he joined his leggy girlfriend Selena Gomez on stage at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada last night
Justin Bieber looked totally smitten with Selena Gomez on stage at the MuchMusic Video Awards last night.
The 17-year-old singer wrapped an arm around his stunning girlfriend as she hosted the awards ceremony.
The event was Selena's first public appearance since her hospitalisation for malnutrition last week.
©Adored: Fans in the crowd reach out to Justin in the hope of touching his hand
©Cute couple: The duo teamed up on stage at the awards bash
Bieber took to the stage to accept an award, which he shared with hip hop star Drake, after they were named joint winners of best international Canadian video.
While 18-year-old Gomez slipped into an array of revealing outfits during the course of the evening, Justin stuck to his guns, donning a retro T-shirt with a printed picture of Saved By The Bell Nineties pin-up Tiffani Thiessen.
©Double win: The teen singer also picked the favourite artist gong for his his hit Somebody to Love
You'd have thought the 17-year-old would have been too young to be a fan of the American teen sitcom - but that didn't stop him wearing the top, which showed Thiessen in character as high school student Kelly Kapowski.
Justin also scooped the honour for favourite artist by ordinary Canadians, adding yet more awards to his growing trophy collection.
©Outfits galore: Selena made a series of wardrobe changes throughout the evening, seen right getting speaking to axed 90210 star Trevor Donovan

Lady Gaga was the other big winner of the night, opening the show with a performance of Edge of Glory and closing out with Born This Way - in which she 'hatched' from a cocoon.
The singer was voted the most popular international artist in the fan category, while also taking home the best international video for Judas.
However, she put in a relatively low-key claim for the fashion crown, wearing outfits which by her standards were somewhat conservative.
©Host turned performer: Selena took a break from her presenting duties to sing her hit Who Says
©Crowd mania: The fans in the audience loved the performance and scrambled for their cameras as she sang
The 25-year-old skipped the red carpet as she turned up to the event in Toronto, Canada, but was pictured showing off what appeared to be a slightly fuller figure in a form-fitting LBD.
She completed the look with her now trademark turquoise wig and a pair of bondage-style knee-high boots.
The Telephone singer later posed for photographers, adding to her ensemble a towering pair of platforms, a blue blazer and a colourful pair of tights.

©Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson won the fan’s favourite video for Stuttering and the hip hop video of the year going to Classified for That Ain’t Classy.
Gomez proved a successful host for the night, having bounced back to health following her recent hospital dash, which she later revealed was down to malnutrition.
The MuchMusic Video Awards is the biggest music awards ceremony in Canada and have been running since 1990.
Irish heartthrob actor Colin Farrell joined Selena on stage to help with hosting duties, as did axed 90210 star Trevor Donovan.

Farrell is currently in Canada shooting the remake of the 1990 movie, Total Recall but found time to attend the ceremony, which also featured performances from Bruno Mars and Canadian-born singer, Avril Lavigne.
On accepting her prestigious role as the event's co-host, Selena recently told the Toronto Herald: 'It's exciting and scary at the same time because (Wizards) was my safety net.
'That's all I really know so it'll be interesting to detach from that and be on my own.'
Selena has had a rocky few weeks after she fell ill and was admitted into hospital for 24 hours with malnutrition last week.

    Easter Dress #1
    Sewing
After I finished this slip dress I was too excited not to share it. This one is for Jade my middle daughter. I started with a thrifted slip and added more length with a ruffle at the bottom, then added vintage lace and ribbons and a couple brightly colored crocheted doilies that I purchased on Etsy awhile back with this in mind. And a ruffle down the front!

Now I'm thinking I want a new Easter slipdress for myself.

The third and final Easter dress, yay I'm done! This one is for my youngest Sage. She tells me she doesn't like it, but she often changes her mind, we'll see. They all get to wear them tonight, my mother-in-law is having pictures taken of them, we even bought flip-flops to match yesterday, hooray for $2.50 flip flops at Old Navy!

....besides vacation! Today i re-fashioned/purposed a old dress for Avery into a pinafore for 'prairie days'...something i am going to do with her over the next few weeks. I was trying to figure out what i was going to use and then i came across this old dress, that was just a little too small for her.
    seving
It was already on my sewing table, because i planned on making it into a skirt for her. So i just got out the sewing scissors and cut a straight line as best i could. No marking, no measuring...i just eyeballed it.

I quickly hemmed the now raw edges and she looked adorable. And as a bonus, because it was lined she can wear it either way, but i think she is partial to the layered look she is showing off here.

These pretty things were in my mail today. I recently won a contest on Red Pepper Quilt Blog. Rita was so nice to give these Flea Market Fancy blocks away, they are 10 inches square. I already have them laid out on my floor, as Avery and i contemplate how they are all arranged at the moment. I hope i can do them justice. If you love quilts you should check out her blog, she makes beautiful quilts, and fast. Thank you so much Rita, it was a thrill to win!
