A Pale Horse Named Death Listening Party at Idle Hands Bar
©On Thursday, May 25, our friends at Idle Hands Bar bring you the Official A Pale Horse Named Death listening party for their brand new album titled "And Hell Will Follow Me". Not only will the music be cranked and the drink specials will be poured to the masses, but the bands founder and front-man Mr. Sal Abruscato (Life of Agony) will be there to meet his fans. Here is the Official press release:
©"A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH's debut album "And Hell Will Follow Me" is set to be released June 14th on SPV/Steamhammer. To celebrate the release of the album, the band will be hosting an exclusive listening party at Idle Hands Bar in New York, NY. Idle Hands is located at 25 Avenue B. The party is open to the public and members of APHND will of course be in attendance. Don't miss what is sure to be a killer event with drink specials and your chance to hear the new album before it hits stores."
    Here is the artist bio:
"A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH is the brainchild of Brooklyn, NY native Sal Abruscato, and sounds like Alice in Chains mysteriously sneaking up behind Type O Negative with a butcher knife while being filmed for a future episode of "Law & Order". Critical acclaim has been quick upon the announcement of the album's June release.
Sal's partner in crime on "And Hell Will Follow Me" is Matt Brown, sound engineer extraordinaire and guitarist of fellow NY band SEVENTH VOID. "The chemistry between me and Matt is unique and flawless very rare in today's music. We are the murdering evil version of Lennon and McCartney." says Abruscato.
Brown adds, "Sal asked me if I would help to take these songs to the next level. I took on this project for my friend, to find some closure in rough times. The music is just an extension of our friendship and our passion for creativity."
©The album artwork was done by Sam Shearon aka Mr. Sam, who has previously done work for Rob Zombie, Fear Factory and Cradle of Filth to name a few, and features a 20 page booklet with artwork for each individual song. Additionally, the Double LP version will feature a never before heard bonus track called "Pick Up Truck".
To top that all off, Life of Agony's Keith Caputo lent background vocals to four tracks and Lou Reed's saxophonist Ulrich Krieger guests on "Die Alone". Bobby Hambel from Biohazard - who also plays with the band live - played the guitar leads on three tunes.
APHND is also a force to be reckoned with live, with shows and festivals already planned in both the U.S. and Europe. Alongside Sal, Matt and Bobby, the live line-up places Type O and Seventh Void drummer Johnny Kelly behind the kit, and Eric Morgan on bass.
"This is my pinnacle creation, the best album I have ever done." commented Sal. And after listening, most people are tending to agree."

Adoring Justin Bieber wraps a protective arm around Selena Gomez on her first public appearance since hospitalisation
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
    ©
Bieber gets a fever: Justin appeared to enjoy the view as he joined his leggy girlfriend Selena Gomez on stage at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, Canada last night
Justin Bieber looked totally smitten with Selena Gomez on stage at the MuchMusic Video Awards last night.
The 17-year-old singer wrapped an arm around his stunning girlfriend as she hosted the awards ceremony.
The event was Selena's first public appearance since her hospitalisation for malnutrition last week.
©Adored: Fans in the crowd reach out to Justin in the hope of touching his hand
©Cute couple: The duo teamed up on stage at the awards bash
Bieber took to the stage to accept an award, which he shared with hip hop star Drake, after they were named joint winners of best international Canadian video.
While 18-year-old Gomez slipped into an array of revealing outfits during the course of the evening, Justin stuck to his guns, donning a retro T-shirt with a printed picture of Saved By The Bell Nineties pin-up Tiffani Thiessen.
©Double win: The teen singer also picked the favourite artist gong for his his hit Somebody to Love
You'd have thought the 17-year-old would have been too young to be a fan of the American teen sitcom - but that didn't stop him wearing the top, which showed Thiessen in character as high school student Kelly Kapowski.
Justin also scooped the honour for favourite artist by ordinary Canadians, adding yet more awards to his growing trophy collection.
©Outfits galore: Selena made a series of wardrobe changes throughout the evening, seen right getting speaking to axed 90210 star Trevor Donovan
    ©
Bad boy: Irish heartthrob Colin Farrell also joined the former Disney star on stage to present an award
©Joint winners: Justin and Drake, who was look a little fuller in the face than usual, both shared the award for International Video of the Year by a Canadian
Lady Gaga was the other big winner of the night, opening the show with a performance of Edge of Glory and closing out with Born This Way - in which she 'hatched' from a cocoon.
The singer was voted the most popular international artist in the fan category, while also taking home the best international video for Judas.
However, she put in a relatively low-key claim for the fashion crown, wearing outfits which by her standards were somewhat conservative.
©Host turned performer: Selena took a break from her presenting duties to sing her hit Who Says
©Crowd mania: The fans in the audience loved the performance and scrambled for their cameras as she sang
The 25-year-old skipped the red carpet as she turned up to the event in Toronto, Canada, but was pictured showing off what appeared to be a slightly fuller figure in a form-fitting LBD.
She completed the look with her now trademark turquoise wig and a pair of bondage-style knee-high boots.
The Telephone singer later posed for photographers, adding to her ensemble a towering pair of platforms, a blue blazer and a colourful pair of tights.
    ©
Legs Eleven: The singer and actress stood firmly in the spotlight as she made her red carpet arrival
    ©
Turning heads: Selena turned up in a stunning backless beige dress teamed with purple heels
©Cheeky: Gomez's boyfriend Justin arrived wearing a retro Saved By The Bell T-shirt with a printed image of Nineties pin-up Tiffani Thiessen with her toned torso on show
Shawn Desman won the MMVA video of the year for Electric/Night Like This, while Far East Movement took home the international group video trophy for Like a G6.
Other winners included Toronto-based six-man rap rock band Down With Webster, which won for best pop video for Whoa is Me.
The best indie video went to JDiggz for This Time, and the rock video of the year was awarded to Abandon All Ships for Geeving.
©Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson won the fan’s favourite video for Stuttering and the hip hop video of the year going to Classified for That Ain’t Classy.
Gomez proved a successful host for the night, having bounced back to health following her recent hospital dash, which she later revealed was down to malnutrition.
The MuchMusic Video Awards is the biggest music awards ceremony in Canada and have been running since 1990.
Irish heartthrob actor Colin Farrell joined Selena on stage to help with hosting duties, as did axed 90210 star Trevor Donovan.
©Greeting fans: The 25-year-old singer had her photo taken with her supporters, but avoided the red carpet
©Nappy couple: Twilight star Nikki Reed with her American Idol fiance Paul McDonald
    ©
Legs on show: Nikki wore a strapless dress which gathered at then waist while Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell dazzled in a sexy black ensemble
©Gothic style: Canadian singer-songwriter Fefe Dobson opted for a long black dress split to the thigh with a dramatic plunging back
©Sk8ter Girl: Canadian-born singer Avril Lavigne performs during the event with her electric guitar in hand
Farrell is currently in Canada shooting the remake of the 1990 movie, Total Recall but found time to attend the ceremony, which also featured performances from Bruno Mars and Canadian-born singer, Avril Lavigne.
On accepting her prestigious role as the event's co-host, Selena recently told the Toronto Herald: 'It's exciting and scary at the same time because (Wizards) was my safety net.
'That's all I really know so it'll be interesting to detach from that and be on my own.'
Selena has had a rocky few weeks after she fell ill and was admitted into hospital for 24 hours with malnutrition last week.

Jasta debuts NEW song featuring Zakk Wylde
©As we had previously mentioned, Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed, Kingdom Of Sorrow) has a solo album coming out on July 26 via EONE Music and just by hearing this new track he recorded with the almighty Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), we're pretty sure that this album will be another hit for the hardest working man in Heavy Music.
The birth of "Jasta" is a result of Jamey having so much music to share, that he decided to produce another project. Some may ask why the hell is he starting another project? Well, Jasta felt that with so many songs that he has created throughout the years that didn't make it into either Hatebreed or Kingdom of Sorrow, that it would dope for the fans to get some new material this summer. Jasta's new project will be released this summer via EONE Music and it will feature a bunch of special guests.
A diverse variety of guest appearances can be found on this record. Tim Lambesis (AS I LAY DYING), pro skater Mike Vallely, Philip Labonte (ALL THAT REMAINS), Randy Blythe and Mark Morton (LAMB OF GOD) and guitar god ZAKK WYLDE just to name a few.
Without further due here is "The Fearless Must Endure", featuring Jamey Jasta and Zakk Wylde:

Here is an interview we did with Jamey Jasta at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, in which we discuss his new solo album:

The New York City Heavy Music Coallition
©On Saturday, June 18, 2011, history was written at Webster Hall (The Ritz) at the No Remission "Through Blackened Skies" record release show. When we arrived at the venue at 4 o'clock to conduct interviews for an upcoming DVD that showcases the state of the New York City Heavy Music scene, the sun was shining and everyone was really pumped about this very special night for the entire community. After chatting with some of the bands and with some key figures from the scene, it was time for Left In Ruins to do what they do best: deliver a crushing display of brutal Metal filled of very technical guitar parts and positive energy!
After grabbing a few beers and greeting the crowd, the surprise of the night took center stage. Arcane Malevolence performed a highly energetic set and got the pit initiated for the storm that was about to unravel at Webster Hall. After a few minutes of peace inside the pit, Alekhine's Gun melted everyone's faces with their furious flavor of Heavy Metal! Goddamn, these guys are getting good and sounding tighter and tighter. The sense of unity that this band possesses is a message that is transmitted to the pit army that stands strong whenever they step on a stage.
Closing this historical night was No Remission who presented New York City with their brand new album titled "Through Blackened Skies" (Click to read our album review), we had personally seen this band live and they impressed the hell out of our ears. The band not only possesses great stage presence and highly technical songs, but they play each song with balls and make the pit army lose their minds!
At the end of the night the dance floor had a lot of blood, sweat and tears, and a lot of happy people! What is going in New York City right now with Heavy Music is blood rushing and extremely exciting. We can't wait to see the DVD which will include every bands performance and plenty of interviews! Stay tuned horns up throwers!

Wellies and winter coats will be order of the day as weather looks grim for Glastonbury
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
©Wet, wet, wet: Festival goers arriving at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset this morning
Thousands of revellers sporting wellington boots and winter coats are beginning to arrive in Somerset as the Glastonbury Festival gets under way.
Rain-hardy revellers battled through the drizzle and mud to get to the campsites on 900-acre Worthy Farm for the start of Britain's biggest and best-loved music festival.
But the heavy rain and soft, marshy ground did little to dampen the spirits of those attending as they manfully battled through the elements.
©Emergency supplies: A box full of cans of beer stands in the mud this morning
©You've got to laugh: Hayley Davenport manages to keep a smile on her face as she carries her guitar through the mud. Left, another festival fan is more than prepared for the expected wet weather
More than 177,000 people are expected to attend the festival in Pilton to see the likes of U2, Beyonce and Coldplay perform.
Unlike last year's sun-drenched festival, music fans have packed woolly jumpers, waterproofs and wellies as they brace themselves for autumnal temperatures and regular downpours.
©Barefoot bravery: Katie Featherstone and Lucy Loretto arrive in the mud clutching their festival gear
Nearly all donned their wet weather gear as as the damp conditions threatened to cause a repeat of the 2007 mudfest.
Weather experts even warned revellers making their way to the annual bash that they may need to brace themselves - for hail.
Met Office forecaster George Goodfellow said: 'The weather for the period of Glastonbury Festival is looking very unsettled but we could see the most intense showers on Thursday.
'When we get these intense showers at this time of the year we can see hail, which is a possibility for Glastonbury.'
    ©
Carefree: A festival goer laughs as he arrives at the Glastonbury Festival site with a dirty face - and the fun hasn't even begun
The Met Office has also warned night temperatures will drop to as low as six degrees - while heavy rain is already turning the 1,100 acre site into a mud bath.
A spokesman said: 'It's not going to be a typically wet Glastonbury but it won't be like last year's either.
'We're expecting some heavy showers for the first two days but it will gradually improve and while Sunday won't be that bright it could be quite warm.'
©Determined: Two festival goers have a steely look on their faces as they battle through the wind and mud
But the weather is unlikely to put off excited festival-goers who will turn Worthy Farm into the south-west's third largest city after Bristol and Plymouth.
James Beal, 25, from Bristol, is making his fourth trip to Glastonbury and spent last year's festival basking in the heat wave.
He said: 'This year's event will be brilliant, regardless of whether it's wet and windy or sunny and bright.
'I think it's impossible for the weather to put me off, I'm here for the music and the atmosphere.
'I can't wait to see Beyonce; I hope Jay-Z makes a guest appearance - that would be amazing.'
©Some revellers will be enjoying the festival fun in rather more luxurious surroundings than others, however.
Popping up next to the Glastonbury Festival is the latest venture in posh camping - deluxe tents which cost up to £1500 for the weekend.
Festival-goers with fat enough wallets can spend the weekend in safari-style bell tents with double beds, valet parking, wooden deck flooring and hot showers in an upmarket encampment just outside the festival.
And for those who need a pick me up after a hard night's raving, the so-called pop-up hotel offers full English breakfasts to guests.
©Missing the point? The luxury on offer at the Pop-Up Hotel just outside the festival site
Event organisers are employing around 1,600 staff to look after the event, which is now in its 40th year.
Thousands of acts from local unsigned bands to the world's biggest rock stars will be appearing on stage over the five-day festival.
Taking centre stage on the famous Pyramid this year are U2, Coldplay and Beyonce while Morrissey, Primal Scream and Tinie Tempah are also expected to draw huge crowds.
Lesser known acts will perform on the 100 other stages and performance areas.
©Wet weather gear: In scenes that could be repeated this year, a discarded pair of wellies lie at the exit of Glasto' 2009
©Compare and contrast: Brollies provided a different kind of protection for last year's festival as sunshine beat down on gig-goers
Festival organisers are dedicating six per cent of the event's revenue this year to keeping the place clean and tidy.
The site will have 20,000 rubbish bins colour-coded for recycling, enabling the festival to recycle more 400 tonnes of waste.
This is being co-ordinated by 160 'green police' who patrol the vast site ensuring people don't drop litter or urinate in the stream.
A team of 950 people will clean up rubbish every morning and ensure the 4,600 toilets are acceptable to use.

Tearful Lauren Alaina sings through the pain after injuring vocal chords as she vies for American Idol crown
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
    ©
Singing on: Lauren Alaina took to the American Idol stage tonight for the final showdown, despite having injured her vocal chords during rehearsals
Lauren Alaina managed to make it on to the American Idol stage tonight for the final showdown - despite fears she may have had to bow out of the contest.
The 16-year-old hopeful had earlier 'blew out her vocal chords' in rehearsals, the show's doctor explained.
But after receiving medical attention and medication she was declared fit to do battle with fellow finalist Scotty McCreery.
©Emotional night: The 16-year-old hopeful became tearful after singing her last song of the night
Lauren soldiered on without any audible hiccups, becoming tearful during her last song, with both her and Scotty, 17, receiving high praise from the judges for their performances.
However, despite her setback, Lauren appeared to get the edge over Scotty, with the judges being slightly more impressed by her efforts.
After the final song, all three judges said Lauren would get their vote over Scotty - although it is the public who get to decide the winner.
Steven Tyler even went as far to say: 'Lauren gets it hands down.'
©Graceful: Host Ryan Seacrest escorts the Georgia native into the audience at LA's Nokia Theatre as she sings Like My Mother Does
©Proud: Lauren shares a hug with her mother as her father watches on during the performance
The show began with the drama over Lauren's voice being discussed.
She reassured host Ryan Seacrest: 'I'm fine,' after the programme's doctor explained how she had received medical treatment for her vocal chords.
Tonight saw the boy next door versus the southern belle as Scotty and Lauren put in their final performances ahead of tomorrow's finale.
Each contestant sung three songs for judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Tyler.
©Let the battle commence: Lauren with fellow finalist Scotty McCreery and host Seacrest
Round one was their favourite song from the season, round two was a song picked by their mentors and round three was the single that each contestant will release if they win the competition.
Scotty's final song was the slow track, I love You This Big.
'When you hit that end note I was like "woah, dude". Scotty you are in it to win it. That was a brilliant vocal,' Jackson told him.
'You are a storyteller, you did an amazing job with that song,' said Lopez.
    ©
Southern belle: She started the night off in a gold, sparkly dress
©Musician: Scotty performs with his guitar in hand. He also received high praise from the judges although they said Lauren had a slight edge over him
Lauren's final track was It's Like My Mother Does, which led her to hug her mother during the performance.
'Lauren Alaina has arrived America, that was amazing,' shouted Jackson.
'There was heart, emotion, feeling and a beautiful, beautiful voice,' said Lopez.
'It's been a tight race,' Lopez added. 'America has their job cut out for them.'
©Here come the judges: Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson
©In position: All judges agreed it was a close race, but called if for Lauren at the end of the night. The voting public will decide the winner, which will be announced in tomorrow's show
The songs were performed in LA's Nokia Theatre in front of seven thousand fans.
The public will vote for the winner with the result being announced tomorrow.
Tonight also saw a guest performance from Taio Cruz and American Idol winner David Cook from season seven.
This year marks Idol's youngest-ever, and first all-country music finale.
Alaina from Georgia, who has dreamed of appearing on the show since age six, is the youngest person to reach the finale.
McCreery, from North Carolina, has a deep voice that belies his youth and has barely put a foot wrong.
©Guest performer: Taio Cruz took to the American Idol stage to entertain the 7,000-strong crowd
But whichever contestant prevails when the votes are announced on Wednesday - and predictions as usual are for a close race - country music may end up the real winner, some experts say.
'Either way they have two people who could do very well in country music,' said Yahoo! Music managing editor Lyndsey Parker.
'If you look at some of the biggest sellers of the past couple of years they have been Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert.'
©Look who's back: Fellow American Idol winner David Cook closed the show
Swift has sold more than three million copies in the United States alone of her November 2010 album Speak Now.
Searches on Yahoo! for American Idol finalists have spiked 949 percent this week ahead of 10th season climax of the most-watched TV show in the United States.
Alaina is getting nearly nine times as many searches as McCreery, according to Yahoo! data.

Tens of thousands of revellers gathered at Stonehenge for an all-night party to celebrate the longest day of the year this morning - despite grey clouds that obscured the sunrise.
English Heritage say 18,000 revellers descended on the site that is usually roped off to the public to witness dawn at exactly 4.43am.
The event is significant for druids, who were joined by hippies, pagans and tourists as well as hordes of younger visitors in search of a good party.

However the number of people who camped out overnight or arrived early to witness the dawn was down on previous years because of the poor weather and the solstice falling on a weekday.
There was no beautiful sunrise into clear blue skies - heavy overnight rain gave way to overcast but dry skies as the sun rose, greeted by cheering and applause.
The self-styled King Arthur Pendragon, the veteran druid who led the event, said it had passed off smoothly.

'It is great to see the stones being used in this way, as opposed to the usual manner with tourists being herded around.'
Stonehenge, which is between 4,000 and 5,000 years old, has in past years been the site of confrontations between revellers and police.
But Superintendent Gavin Williams, of Wiltshire Police, said the majority of the crowd this year were well-behaved and 'came to see the sunrise in the spirit of the event', which was policed in the same way as night spots in the county. However, two men were photographed fighting at the event.
Of the 20 arrests, 11 were for drugs offences and five for public order offences. In addition, 47 drug seizures were made.

Mr Williams said: 'Although it was disappointing that some individuals chose to bring drugs with them, they were dealt with robustly.'
English Heritage, which manages the Stonehenge site on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, said the atmosphere had been 'peaceful and good natured'.
The annual event is a modern take on solstice celebrations which were once a highlight of the pre-Christian calendar. Celebrations focus on the Heelstone, which sits just outside the main circle, and is aligned with the midsummer sunrise.
The solstice is one of the few times access is granted inside the stone circle, which has been roped off since 1978 following years of erosion and vandalism.
Stonehenge's origins remain a mystery, but one theory is that it is a huge astronomical calendar. Others say an ancient sun-worshipping culture aligned the structure with the midsummer sunrise and the midwinter sunset.
The World Heritage site was used as a cremation cemetery since its inception, archaeologists say, but it is unclear if that was its principal function.
It was build in three phases, with stones brought from up to 150 miles away, between 3000 BC and 1600 BC .
