Are those flowers for Katie? Green-fingered Leandro heads to garden centre ahead of Miss Price's 33rd birthday

Happy birthday: Leandro prepares for his girlfriend's 33rd birthday bash by heading to a Surrey garden centre to pick up some flora and fauna
It’s his girlfriend’s 33rd birthday tomorrow and Leandro Penna was spotted shopping for flowers ahead of the big day.
Katie Price’s Argentinian boyfriend didn’t go to his local florist though, and instead headed to a gardening centre in Surrey.
The green-fingered model appeared to have chosen a range of different flower pots, from pink to red to purple.
He also wheeled a selection of small trees over to his car before filling his boot with the flora and fauna.
Despite dressing down in casual shorts, a T-shirt and trainers, Leandro couldn’t hide his model good looks.

Penna has apparently been working in Jordan's garden all week with her sister's boyfriend, Harry Brooks
Meanwhile, Katie Price has been getting excited about her birthday bash, which she is celebrating tonight with a fancy dress party, according to The Sun.
©Handsome gardener: Despite dressing down in casual shorts, a T-shirt and trainers, Leandro couldn't hide his model good looks
The former glamour model wrote on her Twitter page today: ‘You will look wicked tonight! Everything organised so I can chill today in fact haven’t felt well past few days cold on way!x’ [sic]
Leandro has apparently been preening her garden in time for the party, but perhaps his latest flowers are a surprise bunch for Katie.
She has apparently organised the dress-up part at her home and has invited some of her ex-boyfriends, but not her ex-husbands, the tabloid reported.
The Pricey is said to have invited Blue star Duncan James and Another Level singer Dane Bowers among 300 other guests.
©Birthday girl: Katie Price was spotted at her local Sainsbury's in Essex with her son Junior yesterday, while Leandro was in the garden
But Peter Andre and Alex Reid are apparently not invited, after having both gone through very public divorces with Jordan.
Katie has been dating 25-year-old Leandro since they met at Elton John’s Oscar party in February this year, less than two months after she split from second husband Alex Reid.
They have been virtually inseparable since and she has even joined him on vacation to his home country of Argentina to meet the Penna family.
And rumours circulated this week that the couple have had matching tattoos of the date that they met - but have not yet been spotted.
©Business meetings: Earlier in the week Katie Price was seen arriving at a hotel in London, where she had some business appointments

  • Happy blog birthday to me, happy blog birthday to me!

Happy blog birthday to me, happy blog birthday to me!

    Happy birthday!

In case you haven’t realised by now, yes, it’s my first blogversary. It seems insane to think I started this unusual blog on this day a whole year ago. Alas, 286 posts later, here I am still ranting and raving about anything semi-movie related. Over the past few weeks, when my brain has gone for a wander mid-conversation, I’ve pondered about what to write/do on my blogversary. I tend to get uncomfortable when it comes to celebrating my own birthday so I figure there is no harm in celebrating this one properly. That is, I have caught and trained 13 marsupials and shaved this web address into their fur. I intend to release them at the entrance to the nearest shopping centre and let their frenzied rampage be its own kind of celebration/marketing ploy. My plan does not go into effect until 2100 hours. In the meantime, I thought I would share some personal reflections about this blog.

    • Surprisingly, I’ve kept to my original mission statement and avoided any posts about the exploits of my personal life. Except for the post about my friend who broke her vagina because, well, that was simply too good NOT to share.
    • Originally I was inspired to start this by the brilliance of good friend Rickis’ much wittier and substantial blog. That has not changed, however, the pool of writers who now inspire and entertain me has grown to include the likes of Siamese Saffron, King Of New York Hacks, Fuck You Penguin and Little Bohemian.
    • A fitting tagline for this site finally occurred to me a few weeks ago in a dream which may or may not have featured Mark Wahlberg.
    • Within a year some friends have gone and others nearly been lost which makes me appreciate having this outlet to write about things I love, however trivial that may seem to some.
    • I have maintained this site for a year, which is approximately 11 months and 15 days longer than any relationship I’ve maintained with a member from the opposite sex.
    • A newspaper journalist by trade, I founded art & architecture as a way to improve my writing and vent all the film thoughts I had going on in my head. After the first few months I began to realise how much I loved writing about movies and started treating this blog as a portfolio of movie related stories. Without revealing too much, a year on this site has helped me take those few important steps closer to my dream career.
    • Damnit! I did not want to get soppy and here I am preaching about dreams coming true if you work hard enough and blah blah blah.
    • Thanks to this blog I have met an awesome bunch of like-minded people on the 20 something bloggers network. They were even helpful enough to suggest some ways to celebrate my first blogversary. These included strippers, a vlog (which it turns out is not a vampire-hog like I originally presumed), commemorative post, getting hammered, strippers, give-away’s and strippers. Er, thanks guys.
    • I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing up and coming filmmakers, actors, producers, special-effects experts and bring their work to you. With an exciting trip on the horizon, I hope to give you some more juicy juice in the next month.
    • 365 days does not change the fact that despite being of indigenous France heritage, I do not appreciate being called `cuz’ or `Maori-a’. Unless it is amongst the select group of friends with whom racist and parental jokes are allowed.
    • I have broadened my readership from two faithful subscribers to a bunch of peeps from all around the globe. I hope you continue to find something mildly interesting on this site so you keep coming back and sharing your opinions with me.

...i got one project done for Mitchie's birthday. But i had to use Avery's Hello Kitty sewing machine to do it. Mine was giving me a wicked time. I was about to toss it all in and throw my viking out the window, but that little machine came to my rescue and me and Hello Kitty , we got it done!

It is a birthday banner. I saw these in a expensive children's catalog years ago and loved them, but knew i could make them myself and save some money. i have made many. Mitchell's birthday this year is all about pirates. We are not able to hang paper streamers all over the house like usual, because 2 days after his party we are having a open house to sell this place. Anyway, i digress! Instead i made this one so it could easily go up and come down and then be hung somewhere else later on and it is all kinds of piratey!!! I hope the baby likes it.

So when are you getting married? Chelsea pensioner, 85, makes Prince Harry blush as Harry replies ‘Not for a long time’
    By REBECCA ENGLISH
© Pointed question: The Prince shares a joke with a Chelsea Pensioner at London's Royal Hospital today where he was put on the spot with a question about his marriage plans
Blushing Prince Harry was put on the spot over his intentions towards on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy today.
The 26-year-old royal was attending the annual Founder’s Day parade at London’s Royal Hospital – home to the world famous Chelsea Pensioners - when he was caught out by cheeky former soldier William Titchmarsh, 85.
As the prince greeted the retired soldier, Mr Titchmarsh made a reference to his elder brother’s recent wedding and asked: ‘So when are you getting married then?’
The third in line to the throne flushed a shade of pink and replied: ‘Not for a long time. Who put you up to do that to me?!’
‘Oh dear, they’ll shoot me in the morning,’ the pensioner replied.
‘Yes, put him on a charge Sergeant Major,’ his neighbour quipped.
©Sorry sweetheart: The news will undoubtedly come as a blow to Harry's on/off girlfriend Chelsy Davy, pictured here with the Prince last year
Harry has been dating Zimbabwean born law student Chelsy Davy for more than five years although the pair have split up and reunited several times.
And while friends say they are still ‘an item’ and Chelsy attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in April as the prince’s date, she was recently spotted holidaying with friends in Spain and is said to have claimed she was single again
© Stand up straight lads! Prince Harry inspects the veteran soldiers at London's Royal Hospital
© Bachelor pad: Pensioner John Ley shows Harry around his room at the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary at the Royal Hospital Chelsea
The hospital’s Founder’s Day is always held on a day close to May 29th, the birthday of Prince Charles who founded the hospital, and is normally reviewed by a member of the Royal Family.
Harry is understood to have been keen to take the parade for some time.
The average age of the scarlet-clad pensioners on parade this year was 83 with the eldest, Joe Britton, who will celebrate his 100th birthday later this year

© Dashing: Harry wore his Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals uniform with his blue Army Air Corps beret
©Hats off: The Pensioners raise their hats during today's Parade
The pensioner has been at the institution for 17 years and remained seated while the prince took the salute of fellow residents.
Harry later met him and joked: 'You should have been in the front line,' and the old soldier replied: 'When you reach 99 it's about time you finish.'
Harry, who wore his Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals uniform with his blue Army Air Corps beret, became the first serving officer since the Duke of Kent in 1974 to review the Founder's Day Parade of Chelsea pensioners.
©All ears: Harry gave a moving speech, describing his pride at serving as a Junior Captain in the Army Air Corps. Over 1,000 guests were seated in stands
In the grounds of the hospital more than 1,000 guests were seated in stands with the elderly residents lined up in formation in front of them.
The old soldiers, who had an average age of 82, marched past Harry who took their salute as he stood below the gilt statue of Charles II.
All those at the ceremony including Harry wore oak leaf sprigs in memory of the hospital's royal founder who escaped after the battle of Worcester in 1651 by hiding in an oak tree.
©Red coats: Harry became the first serving officer since the Duke of Kent in 1974 to review the Founder's Day Parade of Chelsea pensioners
The Royal Hospital was founded in 1682 to care for old and inured soldiers and is currently home to some 300 male and female pensioners.
Veterans are eligible to become a Chelsea Pensioner over the age of 65.
Touring some of the hospital’s facilities, Harry popped in to see one of the residents, John Ley, and asked him: ‘Are you friendly with your neighbours? Do you have pillow fights in the corridors, then?’
He also gave a short but moving speech, describing his pride and nerves as a Junior Captain in the Army Air Corps at being in front of an audience with ‘so many years of extraordinary military service’.
‘It is an honour and a thrill to stand in these surroundings. The Royal Hospital – this world famous place – represents all that is great about our Country: beauty, traditional – and the wisdom that does with that – selflessness and duty,’ he said.
And he couldn’t resist getting in a dig at his RAF Search and Rescue pilot brother – it is something of a dare between the pair to make a joke at each other’s expense when making public speeches.
‘I find it terrifying that your drill is so much better than my brother's, but it doesn’t surprise me,’ he quipped.

    What I Did Today
    seving
Today for my birthday i wrapped myself up and rolled around in my fabric!!! Maybe not literally, but with just as much pleasure. I cleaned out my fabric closet. I should have done it long ago. i got such a thrill putting everything neatly in rainbow/color order, well, it just is not normal. And all the fabrics in the front of the shelf are the stacks that are meant to be used together. Bundled up nicely with string, waiting for their turn. It makes me giddy to tell about it. But any ladies with a stash of fabric(or even yarns) know.
    seving
I had to clean it all up because there was not room for any of the fabrics i have had sitting out on my fabric table, which has to go away for selling the house, since it is in the middle of my living and dining room. :o( Putting it all away feels a little like i am killing the inspiration to make or sew. But i suppose i can take it out as i need it while we are selling. Anyway...it is not as though i have no projects to do...I have a birthday quilt to finish before friday. Yikes! I get the feeling that that deadline is going to come and go. Sorry little baby man, i am trying.

  • The Ottoman....

    The Ottoman....

A few weeks back I posted a teaser of what I was working on....sorry about the delay in revealing exactly what it was I was making! My eldest daughter, Amelia, has just turned 16, making me wonder where all those years went so quickly :-) I have wanted to make one of these Ottoman's for a long time so I pulled out an assortment of mostly aquamarine blues to go with the predominate colour in Amelia's bedroom. As you can see from the above photo it has been given the seal of approval from Caitlin's cat who decided to rub up against it just as I was taking a photo.

I've had the large white pom-pom trim for a while now just waiting for the perfect project, and I love the element of fun it adds to this piece.

Some aqua and white polka dot piping frames the bottom perimeter perfectly. As you may be able to tell it is quite a decent size. It took 54 5" squares to complete and an enormous amount of polyester stuffing to fill it properly. Amelia's cat in the background took no notice whatsoever in my photo shoot, seemingly more interested in taking in the view from her 'throne'.
Amelia celebrated her big birthday with a sleepover with 3 of her good friends, watching movies, chilling in the spa that I got going just for the occasion and eating lots of junk food as you do when you're 16! For her birthday cake I made her a 'red velvet cake' with cream cheese icing and sprinkled with pink coloured coconut, a recipe on my 'to do' list for a while now.
I have just this past week finished making a couple of items for my shop so hopefully I can find the time to show them here tomorrow :-)

I have plans for some and others i just could not walk away from. i know it is bad...but so so pretty. i think i might use the birds for Avery, and the seahorses and octopi for a shower curtain(maybe), and the rest was just irresistible. i better keep on making.

Besides ordering more fabric than one girl can use at once i have been catching up on unfinished projects and crafting up birthday presents for new little friends. Cute heart bags
Sewing This is what I made my girls for Valentines Day, and I filled them with fun valentinesy things.
I had a crafting ephinany after I put the ruffle on the front of the bags, I had some fabric strip still left and I decided to put a ruffle on the strap and I love it!
It was so fun giving them to my girls on Valentines, Jade and Sage gasped and said "Thank you Mom!" and Kinsley said "Uh hu, Uh hu!" It totally made my day.
You should have seen me trying to get a picture of these today. First off, it is freezing outside today, and I am walking around my backyard trying to find different spots to take a picture. After about 10 minutes I finally snagged some tape and came to the spot I always take pictures at. This wall is actually my neighbors garage and it is my favorite spot for pictures. I love it so much that I have actually worried about where I will take pictures when the time comes for us to move. (we aren't even planning on moving any time soon) Silly of me, right?
I hope you had a nice weekend dear friends. Mine was spent hanging out with my family, ice skating, and yesterday Family came over to celebrate Kinsley's Birthday. Which means I made a from scratch chocolate birthday cake, Casey even said it was the best damn chocolate cake he'd ever tasted, and I'd have to agree :) I am glad he didn't say damn in front of our kids though, we wouldn't want our kids running around saying that :)
  • Intermediate Pattern For Colette Macaron Dress

Intermediate Pattern For Colette Macaron Dress

    The feminist

Oh, hello there. Nice to see you. Notice anything different? Anything intermediate? Yes, that's right. I have successfully completed an intermediate pattern. We're talking darts, facing, curvy sleeves, and bits that match up.

And, while I'm (obviously) pretty chuffed with myself I can't take all the credit. Colette patterns are just so damn good. I mean they come in book format. They have a glossary. I know I've praised Colette pattern's organised awesomeness before, but it's worth another shout out.

    What I changed?
I used a single layer of fabric for the sleeves and hemmed them instead of using two-layers as the pattern suggests. I think the curve would have been nicer with two-layers, but I was feeling rebellious. I also used a regular zipper instead of an invisible zipper because apparently I live in the deserted wastelands and dark blue invisible zippers over 5cm are rare, exotic gems.

    What I like?
Despite my rebellion, I adore the way the sleeves turned out. They're incredibly feminine in how they mimic the bust line. The secret pockets hidden beneath a pleat. We're talking hidden, deep, comfortable pockets that don't change the shape or bulk up the dress. Genius. Someone get Sarai a nobel prize, stat.

I'm also really happy with the fit of the dress, especially the bodice. As usual, the pattern had to go through some epic changes to fit me properly. I originally cut a 4 in the top and 6 in the bottom (holla for the badonkadonks!), lengthened the bodice 3.5cm (1.4"), took in the waist, adjusted the skirt to match, blah blah blah...

What I'll do next time?Match the waist band pieces. Ssssh. Just don't look at them.

So, my verdict is love, love, love and I can't wait to make it again. But, I know you might be wondering... what does my macaron have to do with a field track? Well I was at Uni wearing my dress, so I thought I'd take some photos while out there. And, the reason I was at Uni?

So I'm a graduate with intermediate sewing skillz. Could I be any happier? No. Probably not. Unless I had a chocolate milkshake. Then my life would be complete.

    Macarons On My Table

Saying a sewing project is on my table is a bit of a lie. It's really on my floor, with a sleeve on the table, a skirt front over a chair, and a back yoke who-knows-where. But it will come together, with the it being my new, nearly completed Colette Macaron dress. You've probably seen it out in the google-sphere on other talented ladies (or men?). I'm using the same japanese cotton from my Welcome Spring dress... and my present bag.

But please, hear my case. I have a totally legitimate reason. You see I bought the fabric online, and my cautious nature thought "I'll get a touch extra, just in case". I then discovered the Simplicity pattern was a big fat lying liar pants and I needed way less than suggested. So I gotta-lotta fabric. Two dresses and a bag's worth, actually. The Macaron pattern is labelled 'intermediate', but to be honest I haven't found too many issues... yet. It just requires patience.

I have also checked a technique. Look at this facing, it's so facey! I can't believe it took me so long to do facing. I literally stared at it for about an hour. You know what else this facing is? Serged. Seriously I am now considering my life in two parts: Before and after owning a serger. With the latter obviously being far greater and magical.

It makes everything so clean. So neat. So finished. I'm going a little serger crazy. This is going to be the neatest goddamn garment in the land I tell you. Oh, I also have a new addition to my treasured sewing family. Yesterday was my birthday and, what can I say, my boy knows how to buy a good present. I haven't used it yet, but I feel pretty pro just having it in my possession.

    Colette Violet

Yeah, things are getting Colette-crazy around here, and next up is the beautiful Violet blouse. I've had this pattern for a while but never mustered the courage to attack those intimidating button holes, or that menacing peter pan collar. I'm sure I'll find, just like every other time I check a technique, it will be fine and I have nothing to fear from a little Peter Pan action.

I'll probably use one of the three fabrics below as they're already in my stash. I'm petrified of creating one of those prevalent space-devouring stash-monsters. That all looks rather pink, doesn't it? The first two I bought at a vintage fair, and the third is a liberty of London fabric I got for my birthday. Spoilt much? Yes. I've never sewn with liberty fabric, but it's been a dream of mine. I'm not embarrassed to admit I've spent hours just holding onto this little strip of fabric, rubbing it against my cheek.

    Which one would you use?

    My weekend projects
    Sewing
    Sewing

I accomplished quite a bit this weekend. I made a mini quilt as part of my youngest daughter's birthday present. It was my first attempt at actually quilting something. In the past I have just tied my quilts. Who knows if I did it right, I just went by what I have read online. I think it turned out pretty cute though! I had a return customer, and writer of the blog Stephmodo request some shirts for her cute daughter. So after I made those (which she posted about on her blog), I had a request for one so I made up a whole bunch of them ( 26 to be exact). Aren't they the sweetest? I was going to make different styles than just the birds, then decided to make it easy on myself and just do the birds, anyways every time I make something with a bird on it, it sells.

This weekend I also did some much needed housework, hours and hours of it. And I still have more to do, I have been neglecting housework lately, I can't do that anymore, it drives me nuts! I have been in the spring cleaning mood I guess because I want to go through everything and get rid of stuff, after I get all my craft shows done I'm having a yard sale/craft show. Getting money for my unwanted stuff is the best!

On another note, my husband likes to play his music for the kids, and all three of my girls rock out to it, this weekend my 4 year old was singing Dirty deeds done dirt cheap by AC/DC, it was too funny! Oh the innocence!

    iPhone with brilliants

It's really kind of ironic that what I want for my birthday in April is a new phone. I say this because my family gets p'd off because they can never reach me. I either forget to take my phone, or if it's with me it's not turned on. I have taken so much grief over the past couple of years over this.

Now they're saying, "Well, if we get her a phone she wants, maybe she'll turn it on!" I was really hoping that Apple would get the service stuff with Verizon worked out so I could get an iPhone. We're a Mac family and I think Apple products are great. But it looks like it'll be 2011 before this takes place.

So I'm looking at the Motorola Droid phone

I'm due for a new phone through my Verizon service plan. Instead of the phone costing $599, it will cost $199... and they're running a BOGO. Of course, Verizon makes their money on the extra costs per month for using this type of phone, but still...

Does anybody have any insights they'd like to share... I told my son last night that what I wanted the phone to have is a calendar and an address book. He started cracking up and said, "Mom, they all have that!"

And i had to go and buy fabric to make it yesterday, even though i have lots of new fabric to make other things with. You see, a certain little someone here is about to have a birthday and he has been asking for a long time for a pirate quilt...so with about 2 weeks to go i decided to start one. He is a tough little man....so all the "aaargh" piratey stuff really thrills him. Started and Finished
I have not been around the blog much lately...but i am still visiting all my favorite blogs and working on some projects.

We started school last week and it has been harder than i thought it would be to adjust to a new curriculum and a new schedule, but the naps(for me not them) are helping!!! :o)

    seving
Last night in a record binding session, less than 2 hours, i put a a lovely stripey finish on my Cogsmo robot quilt, for the maybe a boy baby. I was waffling a little on how much i liked it as i was putting it together, but as the quilting was coming to an end i started to like it more. I used straight lines throughout following along the seems as well as criss crossing the whole quilt.

    seving
I threw it in the wash and dry this morning while we were doing lessons and it came out with all that crinkly goodness you read about in quilty blogland. Out of fear (fear of bleeding colors, shrinking, etc) i don't wash many of my quilts after they are done....but i am learning that that is unfounded....washing and drying is worth it. It looks loved and lived with.

    seving

I have also started a crochet blankie for this new little one. Avery keeps joking with me that as long as i finish it before he or she is 1 i am doing good....since Mitchell got his at nearly 6. I can appreciate the kids sense of humor about this! Ave also helped me pick the yarn for the blanket...a soft white sprinkled with yellow and greens. I am almost half way with it and that is saying something!!!

On a side note...today was my birthday. 35. My very nice friend and neighbor made me a mini cookie cake to celebrate. It was a simple average day. Life goes on...we had school and went shopping (with a wee stop on the road for a bad bought of car sickness, Mitchell) i made pizza for dinner and then Avery had her first gymnastics lesson (more about that later). Chris and the kids bought me some fun kitchen stuff from Williams and Sonoma and some really fun metallic sharpies. i am so addicted to those markers. I just wish i could make some real art with them...or just good doodling!

I work way better under pressure. One of the little girls at Mitchell's school was having a birthday this week and i wanted to make her a little something that she could remember us by when she moves back to India. At midnight the night before i got all the fabrics cut and ready for this crayon roll-up and sewed it up quick in the morning. It came together really well, and the pattern was easy to follow. I had plenty of scraps in the scrap bin to choose from. I was thinking about making these for some of the little people i know for handmade/homemade Christmas.

You can see that right away i stuck some pins in there to get it doing it's job. I love it all. This was my first swap and i have to say that it was a great experience. I just may do more. It is so fun to know that there is a mystery package coming to your door. It is like Christmas or your birthday. Exciting!!

Here is the pincushion i sent her way...with a few yo-yo's form my collection and a notebook i made for her. I think my favorite part of the one i sent to her is the buttons.... Maybe i will make myself a patchwork pincushion and use the buttons you sent me Mandy. Cute! Thanks for being a great swap partner.

I knew that this quilt was going to require some special time and attention for quilting....but what was i thinking when i decided to go for hand quilting?

This corner was a trial run. I was not sure, still am on the fence a little, if this was how i wanted to quilt something that was pretty large. But my design consultant, Avery, loves it....

...and since it is hopefully going to be done in time for her birthday(a present for her) i went with her on this one.

It is going to take a little while and my finger is killing me but in the end i know it will be worth the work.

Anyone have good hand quilting tips for me?

i can blog this gift because i know for sure that the family member that i made it for never looks at the blog. It has been sitting on my sewing table as a pile of fabric, waiting for me to turn it into something. It was supposed to be a birthday gift, way back months ago. Fortunately she is very gracious, because i am a huge procrastinator. It is a quilted table runner. I hope she likes it. I get really terrible "analysis paralysis" because i tend not to use a pattern for things like this. I just get a idea and then i get all vaklempt over how to do it...then i put it off for ages because i can not make a decision. After being on vacation, i was having a little sewing withdrawl, so i thought it best to finish a few instead of starting any new.

Bono's little girl steps out of her father's shadow at Cannes... but has co-star Sean Penn by her side for support

Her famous father is used to the spotlight, but last night it was the U2 frontman’s daughter’s turn to steal the limelight at Cannes.
Eve Hewson showed that she’s no shrinking violet by strutting down the red carpet in a stunning black and pink Chanel ensemble for the film premiere of This Must Be The Place.
The 19-year-old stars in the crime thriller alongside her father’s pal Sean Penn and Talking Heads singer David Byrne.
©Cool and composed: The 19-year-old actress appeared relaxed in front of the press and photographers at the premiere of This Must Be The Place, by director Paolo Sorrentino
And Penn made sure to act as a protective father figure for Eve on the red carpet by staying close by her side throughout the night, as her parents didn't attend the event.
Eve certainly picked up some tips from Bono on how to turn heads, and looked lovely in the light pink skirt, black bodice and sheer overlay alongside Miu Miu heels, while Penn wore a Giorgio Armani tux.
Earlier in the day she had attended a photo call for her new film too, and opted for a Miu Miu dress with a neon green cut-out leather yoke.
Being in the company of stars including Gwen Stefani, Rosario Dawson and Faye Dunaway didn’t seem to faze the young actress at all and appeared calm and relaxed.

This Must Be The Place is not Eve’s first appearance on screen though and had her first debut in 2002 on her father’s video documentary ‘U2 Go Home: Live from Slane Castle’.
She also appeared on Irish chat show The Late Late Show in 2003 and in 2008 had a role in the drama The 27 Club - which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
Eve also had a starring role last year in a short film titled For The First Time, but her latest project is by sure her largest.
This Must Be The Place sees Penn play a wealthy former rock star in Dublin, who is now bored and embarks on a quest to find his father’s persecutor – an ex-Nazi war criminal now hiding out in the U.S.

Learning his father is close to death, he travels to New York in the hope of being reconciled with him during his final hours, only to arrive too late.
Having been estranged for over 30 years, it is only now in death that he learns the true extent of his father’s humiliation in Auschwitz at the hands of former SS Officer Aloise Muller – an event he is determined to avenge.
While Eve plays his 16-year-old friend covered in tattoos, who rides around on a skateboard – which she admitted was hard to master.

Sean Penn no doubt picked up some tips from Bono on how to play a rock star, but the U2 star did not attend yesterday’s event.
But Bono is no stranger to Cannes and in 2007, he played alongside the rest of U2 at the top of the Palais steps to launch the screening of concert film U2 3D.

Eve is Bono and his wife Ali Hewson’s second-eldest daughter and grew up in Dublin with her three siblings, Jordan, 22, Elijah, 11, and John, 10, away from public exposure.
Her youngest brother John turns 10 today, which he will no doubt be celebrating with his famous family at home in Ireland.
©Proud parents: Bono and Eve's mother Ali Hewson (seen here in Dublin last month) didn't attend Cannes this year and are thought to be back in Ireland to celebrate their 10-year-old son's birthday today
