But it seems to me, the difference in cultures is rather doubtful. And it is frequent, as it is paradoxical, discrepancies become the unique tool in search of own individuality».
The Concrete House in suburb of Melbourn
Uniqueness of the Concrete House just in not similarity of two half. The building is constructed by request of the private person, on a rectangular site, in suburb of Melbourn. It's divided on two excellent from each other parts: one — for public — is similar to the turned ship or on the amusing concrete moon which follows directly from a lobby. Such design — an unexpected deviation from a direct way.

The Second — private — half of building is similar to a narrow and long case on which perimetre the gallery with an exit in a garden lasts.
Similarity and Distinctions
«Each of two so unlike parts introduces the mite in creation of the general harmony of the house», — the architect adds. Details of one half of building unexpectedly arise in another though are developed by different principles. So the concept of this house falls outside the limits simple understanding about two half conflicting among themselves. Design elements are interconnected, and sounding of one finds an echo in other. Especially well it is visible in a main hall in which visitors have doubts: where similarity comes to an end and distinctions begin.

Unusual Medical Complex (Australia)

The Australian architectural studio «Lyons» has finished building a ultra-modern medical complex «John Curtin School of Medical Research». The unique architectural building expressively reflects progressive methods of work and aspiration to innovative processes.
In the medical center based on base of the Australian National University in Canberra are based: research laboratories, medical clinics, health care offices, hall for teaching lectures and the world seminars.

Dynamical architectural forms of a building draw attention of the public and personify development and movement. The Unique Cultural Center
In Ávila (Spain) are opening a new cultural center Centro Niemeyer constructed under the project of well-known Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
Oscar Niemeyer Presents...
The spiral staircase begins outside, at ground level, then deduces in premises and further into the attic hall. The unique design is only a part of the future complex, the project is in expectation of the gradual grandiose realization.

Organizers hope that the unusual object will represent itself as a magnet for the best samples of world culture, planning development of talents, knowledge and various niches of creative activity.
Except art showrooms and speech auditorium, in Centro Niemeyer are provided: the cinema hall, rehearsal rooms, conference halls and public zones. The author's plan — the centre opens doors into culture in all its directions, forms, traditions and styles: music, theater, cinema, exhibitions in the open air, live conferences and various educational programs.

Luxury Bar in Las Vegas
Bar in Las Vegas, work of the Japanese studio “Design Spirits Co., Ltd” became one of winners of competition The Great Indoors Awards. The Chinese restaurant is in one building with very large casino and hotel on 3,300 apartments.
Luxury Relax & Consume
The project has won a nomination “Relax and Consume”. Walls and a ceiling are covered by a white openwork pattern from a steel.
Habitual registration of an interior — division into various zones by means of various "samples". In the given premise there is one magnificent feature — an absolute openness, absence of columns. Designers have decided to use this fact and have issued all interior in uniform style. The space has turned out unique and picturesque.

Aqua Tower by Studio Gang

Aqua Tower (Chicago)
Each skyscraper in Chicago is continuation of History of Skyscrapers which has begun for a city in 1885 with building Home Insurance Building. "Tower" in height of 42 meters (plus two floors have been completed in 1891, having finished height to 50 meters) became the first-ever building exceeding level in five floors. New Aqua Tower — height of 250 meters, the sculptural facade of a structure creating illusion of waves is unique.
The Unique Architectural Structure
Calcareous rocks, characteristic for area of Great Lakes became a prototype of a wavy facade.
Such architectural decision it has not only visual value, and is functional; waves are used as viewing platforms, and also a shadow veil.
Building parameters; 82 floors, 250 meters in height, 215 hotel rooms (with 1 on 18 floor), 476 apartments (with 19 on 52 floor), 5,100 sq. m. trading and office areas, an underground parking, a 8-storeyed cellar a total area of 32,000 sq. m., a terrace with gardens, pools, arbors, paths for walks and run.

Hotel for visitors from the future

In cooperation with Fraunhofer IAO from Stuttgart, architects from bureau LAVA have created design of a room of hotel of the future which became a part of the research project.
In a room the special illumination co-operating with biorhythms of the person, and a window with the projected image is equipped. Architects describe a room as the demonstration project which investigates interaction between architecture, technology and a human body.

Future Hotel enters into project IAO Inhaus2, which main accent — to correspond to expectations and requirements of visitors, by means of use of technologies of tomorrow. Mixing borders between technologies and an interior, in design of a room last innovations in the field of media both visual communications, and the prototypes of products created by known manufacturers are shown.
Technologies function on a background, imperceptibly, giving possibility personally to supervise media, light, a climate. In a room there is a bed with active comfort, an intellectual mirror, the huge display-window, light adapting for biorhythms of the person.

The soft transitions, the accented individual corners create special atmosphere in a room, the external form of "capsule" becomes the interface showing interaction of the person and technologies, soft and firm materials, balance between functionality.
Applying methods of parametrical design and semi-automatic technologies, architects from LAVA have created realistic design the concept of the house of the future.

Fashionable brand Hermès has created design for Smart

French fashionable house Hermès has co-operated with a command of distributors of cars Como and has developed design of an interior for ten cars Smart.
Ten cars are created in ten colours; the internal upholstery consists of the same materials that is used for road accessories from Hermès.

The given project is dated for 10-year-old anniversary of the Parisian group of company Como/Smart. Magnificent fashionable autonovelties will be presented in Grand Palais.

It is not surprising, that stylish and playful model Smart for two passengers, Toile H is the smallest and most elegant compact city car which when or should be sold Como/Smart in Paris.

Experts Hermès used a firm upholstery for salon, optimised space, have made the car as much as possible comfortable and practical.

Fit for Real People

Even though Jane's instructions were amazingly clear it took my little beginner brain actually seeing the movement - after that it was so easy and I'm a Bias convert! Sorry for the picture below, I know how eerie (and boring) faceless pictures are but I'm not up to posting my silly facials on the Internet yet... give me time!
So what do I like about it?
Well it's really pretty, and Tasia's instructions were invaluable for a beginner. Also it seems like one of those patterns that you could make loads of little adjustments to make each blouse unique. Look at me! Talking like I know about sewing. I say it because I've seen a few alterations like Jane's below and they're really cute - I'm even going to attempt my own!
What don't I like about it?
My complaints are currently limited to my own talent. I found it a bit difficult to work with such slippery fabric, especially when it came to cutting. The only other thing was fitting - My abilities of tissue fitting are horrible but I take zero blame for that - I'm currently under the impression you need to have as many arms as Shiva, a gazillion-jointed-spine, and eyes in the back of your head (or a dress form worth AU$450) to be able to fit on your own body. So I've caved and just ordered 'Fit for Real People' hopefully those divas on the front cover will show me how to wear shoulder pads with pride!
What about doing French seams?
Eep! After doing French seams on the shoulders I got totally distracted by my bias-tape dilemma and forgot to do them! From my limited experience they were super easy, and they look much nicer than my other seams as I kick it old-school and don't have a Serger... that's just how I roll.
Would I make it again?
Heck yeah Grizzly Bear! I've already got my fabric and I'm going to make a few adjustments to the pattern so it fits better, not to mention do it a little 'neater' this time. I might even be adventurous and make a few minor changes with the detail? I'm thinking buttons, because who doesn't like buttons?
